The difference between common mode inductance and differential mode inductance
1. Disturbing the electromagnetic field to generate a differential mode current between the line and the line, causing interference on the load, which is the differential mode interference; the disturbance electromagnetic field generates a common mode current between the ground and the ground, and the common mode current generates a differential mode voltage on the load, causing Interference, this is the common-mode ground loop interference.
2. The filter inductor that suppresses common mode interference is called common mode inductor; the filter inductor that suppresses differential mode interference is called differential mode inductor.
3. The common mode inductor is two-wire bidirectional; the differential mode inductor is unidirectional.
4. The common mode inductor is two sets of coils with the same number of turns on the same core, the wire diameters are equal, and the opposite directions are opposite; the differential mode inductance is a coil wound around a core.
5. The common mode is that the two windings are connected to the neutral line and the live line respectively, the two windings are in the same direction, and the common mode signal is filtered out; the differential mode is a filter inductor in which the winding is separately connected to the neutral line and the live line. Only differential mode interference can be filtered out.
6. Common mode signal: Two identical signals on the neutral line and the live line respectively. They all form a loop through coupling and ground; differential mode signal: the same circuit as the useful signal
7. The characteristic of the common mode inductor is that the iron core is not afraid of saturation because the two sets of coils on the same core are wound in opposite directions. The most used core material on the market is a high conductivity ferrite material.
