Working principle of automobile high pressure package

In fact, the high-pressure pack is the ignition ring of the car. The simple explanation of the ignition coil is that the spark plug can "generate sparks" to ignite the gas mixture in the cylinder.

In fact, it is a transformer that is responsible for transforming the low-voltage current of the vehicle into high-voltage electricity. Normally, each cylinder is equipped with a set of ignition coils and spark plugs. The ignition coils are generally replaced in 100000 km or even longer.

 

Working principle

The reason why the ignition coil can turn the low voltage into high voltage on the vehicle is that it has the same form as the common transformer, and the ratio of turns of the primary coil and the secondary coil is large. However, the working mode of ignition coil is different from that of ordinary transformer. Ordinary transformer works continuously, while ignition coil works intermittently. It stores and discharges energy at different frequencies according to different engine speeds.

When the primary coil is connected to the power supply, a strong magnetic field will be generated around with the increase of current, and the iron core will store the magnetic energy; when the switch device disconnects the primary coil circuit, the magnetic field of the primary coil will rapidly decay, and the secondary coil will induce a high voltage. The faster the magnetic field of the primary coil disappears, the greater the current at the moment of current disconnection, and the greater the turn ratio of the two coils, the higher the voltage induced by the secondary coil.
