Generally, the magnetic core performance is MPP> Sendust> Ferrite. Of course, the same price is MPP> Sendust> Ferrite. The choice of magnetic core is selected after comprehensive consideration of performance, cost, volume, etc. , Each kind of magnetic core can basically meet the requirements of the subject; and the performance of the inductor in actual use is not only related to the magnetic core, but also related to the winding process of the inductor; the design of the DC inductor is generally determined by four factors: 1. Requirements After the inductance 2, DC current 3, AC current 4, loss and temperature rise can be determined, of course, there must be a compromise in engineering. You can choose the core material, and all of these materials can be used. Then you can use the AP method to calculate and select the specific core model. Generally, the AP value of the ferrite core will be given by the manufacturer. After the AP method is calculated, you can select the core model, and then calculate the number of turns, air gap, Wire diameter, determine the loss temperature rise, etc. If the loss temperature rise does not meet the requirements, you have to go back and re-select the core. After several iterations and compromises, you can basically get the required core model. However, if you choose MPP or sendust cores, you don’t have to use AP method to calculate the cores. The core parameters provided by the manufacturers of MPP and sendust are more detailed, basically based on the provided parameters. It is easy (compared to ferrite) to determine the number of turns and wire diameter mentioned above. By the way, MPP is very expensive and not easy to buy. Ferrite is more recommended. Basically, the most widely used magnetic core in engineering, it is not expensive to buy.
