The same is the transformer, why is the mobile phone charger very light, while the general transformer is very heavy?

Let me first talk about one of the properties of the transformer: when the power is constant, the higher the working frequency, the smaller the transformer core cross-sectional area, and the fewer winding turns.
The principles of these two transformers are completely different:
The 220-110 transformer is a linear transformer, and the working frequency is power frequency, that is, the mains power, 50Hz, so it has a large volume. However, high-frequency interference is less, and it is used more in audio products such as speakers and radios.
This is a linear transformer:

The 220-5V transformer is a switching transformer, and the operating frequency is adjusted to tens of kHz, so that the transformer can be made small. It is also a technology commonly used by most chargers on the market.
This is a switching transformer:

One, the heavy transformer is to step down the 50Hz AC power, the light one first rectifies the AC to DC, inverts the DC to high-frequency AC and then reduces the voltage through the high-frequency transformer. The frequency of the transformer can be reduced by increasing the frequency.
Second, the capacity is different, the power transmitted by the two transformers is different.
