Introduction of Transformers

Transformers, also known as instrument transformers, are the collective term for current transformers and voltage transformers.  It can turn high voltage into low voltage and large current into small current for measurement or protection system.  Its function is mainly to convert high voltage or large current into standard low voltage (100V) or standard low current (5A or 1A, both refer to the rated value) in proportion to realize the standardization and small size of measuring instruments, protection equipment and automatic control equipment 化.  At the same time, transformers can also be used to isolate high-voltage systems to ensure the safety of people and equipment.

In power supply lines, the current difference ranges from several amperes to tens of thousands of amperes, and the voltage difference ranges from several volts to several million volts.  The current and voltage in the circuit are relatively high, such as direct measurement is very dangerous.  In order to facilitate the conversion of the secondary instrument measurement to a relatively uniform current and voltage, the transformer is used to play the role of variable current and voltage and electrical isolation.  Most of the display instruments are pointer-type current and voltmeters, so the secondary current of the current transformer is mostly ampere-level (such as 5, etc.).  With the development of the times, most of the power measurement has reached digitalization, and the signal sampled by the computer is generally milliamp (0-5V, 4-20mA, etc.).  The secondary current of the miniature current transformer is milliampere, and it mainly serves as a bridge between the large transformer and the sampling.
