Full-bridge & Half-bridge of Current Rectifier Bridge
Rectifying bridge is a bridge rectifying device composed of several (two or four) rectifying diodes sealed together. Its main function is to convert alternating current into direct current, that is, rectifying, so it is named rectifying bridge. So the rectifier bridge used in the ring transformer is to adjust the current direction.
The rectifier bridge can be divided into full bridge and half bridge. The whole bridge is composed of four rectifying diodes connected and packaged as a whole in the form of bridge full wave rectifying circuit; the half bridge is composed of two diode bridge rectifying half together, two half bridges can form a bridge rectifying circuit, and one half bridge can also form a full wave rectifying circuit with central tap of transformer.
If full bridge rectifier is used, adjust the negative half cycle voltage of alternating current to positive half cycle, and the voltage after capacitance filtering should be approximately 1.414 times of the effective value
If half bridge rectifier is used, the voltage around the negative half axle of alternating current shall be removed, and the voltage after capacitor filtering shall be approximately 1.414/2 = 0.7 times of the effective value
It is worth saying that when using the rectifier bridge, we need to know the voltage withstand of the rectifier bridge itself. It can only be used in the circuit below its voltage withstand value.
Of course, the ring transformer is generally used full bridge rectifier. When the rectifier bridge is used in the ring transformer, the voltage and power will change. For example, after rectifying the ring transformer with input 220V and output 12V and rated power of 300W, the output voltage is 1.1-1.4 times of the original, i.e. between 13v-17v; the rated power becomes 70% of the original, i.e. 210W.
