Detailed example :
The inductance of the inductor which is made of the magnetic core is higher than that of the same volume of air coil that has no magnetic core,. Besides ,the Q value (quality factor) is also high. Such as Gu - 22 x 13 tank shaped magnetic core, to make a 4mH coil, if with magnetic core ,it only needs to wind 43 turn coil ; instead if it is an air coil that is no magnetic core inside it, it needs to wind 600 turns to get the 4mH inductor. It can be seen that after the use of the magnetic core, can greatly reduce the size of the inductor or transformer.
