Common mode choke Function principle

Common mode inductor is a ferrite core of the common mode interference suppression device, it consists of two same size, the same number of turns of coil are symmetrically around the system in the same iron ferrite toroids, forming a four terminal device. For common mode signal ,showing a large inductance has an inhibitory effect, and for differential mode signal showing a very small leakage sense has little or no effect. Principle is common - mode current flows through magnetic flux are superimposed on each other, which has a large inductance, and it has an inhibitory effect on the common mode current . When the two coil through differential mode current, magnetic flux offset each other, almost no inductance, so current mode has no attenuation to go through. Therefore, the common mode inductor can effectively suppress the common mode interference signal in the balanced circuit, and has no effect on the differential mode signal of the normal transmission of the line.
