Split core current transformer is an openable clamp-on induction sensor designed for easy installation without cutting wires or powering off the circuit. Featuring a split iron core structure, it can be directly clipped onto running cables and busbars to convert high alternating current into standard low current signals accurately. Principle & Structure

Working on electromagnetic induction theory, the primary live cable passes through the transformer core. Alternating current generates a magnetic field and induces a proportional low current or voltage signal in the secondary winding.
