A Rogowski Coil Current Transformer (RC CT) is an advanced, air-core (coreless) electrical sensor for measuring alternating current (AC) and high-speed transient current pulses. Named after physicist Walter Rogowski, it consists of a helical coil of wire uniformly wound on a non-magnetic flexible or rigid former.
Unlike traditional iron-core current transformers (CTs), it operates on Faraday's Law of Induction, producing a voltage output proportional to the rate of change (di/dt) of the primary current. An external integrator circuit converts this signal into a voltage proportional to the actual current.
